FIGHTING FOR THE HEART OF TEXAS
Your state representative should prioritize the well-being of all Texans. We need government to be responsive to all of the people it serves because wealthy and special interest groups priorities have prevailed for too long.
I Believe:
*Every individual deserves to be safe from violence.
*Every woman deserves choice over her own body.
*Every ethnic and sexual minority group deserves nondiscrimination.
*Every Texan deserves affordable healthcare.
*Every family deserves affordable housing and childcare.
*Every student deserves a quality public education.
*Every educator deserves fair compensation.
*Every eligible voter deserves improved voting access.
*Every citizen deserves policies informed by science and medicine.
ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work For You
Touching people's lives to be of service to them has been my calling for as long as I can remember. I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for over 30 years, first at a nonprofit in Fort Worth and then in private practice in Lewisville and Flower Mound. In addition to my full-time practice in developmental disorders, I am an adjunct professor in psychology at a community college, North Central Texas College. During the course of my career, I have been dismayed at the suboptimal health care and educational services available to Texans, especially those who have special needs or who are under-resourced. My passion is to be a driving force in changing the legislative priorities in Texas--to better serve all of us.
My heritage is as a "preacher's kid" in small towns in the Midwest prior to coming to Texas to attend the doctoral psychology program at Baylor University. Through Baylor connections, I met my husband, who is a small-business owner in Flower Mound. We have two married daughters in their 20s, one of whom is a special education teacher and the other of whom is a professional ballroom dancer. All of us are dedicated to our family (including our dogs and cats!) and to our career callings. The strong work ethic and purposeful family values we possess have led all of my family members to support and be involved in my candidacy for Texas HD 63.
